LinkedIn Creative
A UX redesign exploring how LinkedIn could better support creatives in showcasing work, skills, and career growth.

Project Duration :
3 Weeks

OVERVIEW :
LinkedIn Creator is a conceptual product extension designed to help creative professionals showcase their work, tell their story, and build meaningful connections within LinkedIn. The project explores how LinkedIn could better support creatives by combining professional credibility with visual storytelling and community.
I worked on this project as a UX Designer, contributing across research, synthesis, ideation, and interface design, with a focus on portfolio visibility, discovery, and trust signals for creatives and recruiters.

PROBLEM & APPROACH :
While LinkedIn is essential for networking and job searching, it is not designed to support how creatives share work, express identity, or connect through storytelling. Creatives often rely on external platforms or personal websites to showcase projects, which fragments their professional presence.
To understand this gap, I researched how creatives currently use LinkedIn alongside other platforms and what both creatives and recruiters need to evaluate creative work.
Research and discovery included:
Conducted user interviews with creative professionals and recruiters
Analyzed how creatives showcase work across LinkedIn, Behance, Dribbble, Squarespace, Upwork, and Contra
Completed comparative and competitive analyses
Synthesized qualitative data through affinity mapping
Developed personas representing both creative candidates and recruiters
Key insights from research:
Creatives use LinkedIn for credibility, not expression
Portfolios on LinkedIn are difficult to access and lack storytelling
Creatives rely on external platforms to visually showcase work
Recruiters want faster ways to understand creative quality and process
Users want stronger community signals, personality, and authenticity

SOLUTIONS & OUTCOME :
The final concept introduces LinkedIn Creator, a creator-focused layer within LinkedIn that enables visual portfolios, storytelling, and community discovery without sacrificing professional trust.
Key features include:
A LinkedIn Creator Portfolio Builder with customizable templates
Visual, desktop-first portfolio creation for works in progress
A Creator Badge to establish trust and credibility
Enhanced mobile profiles with featured work and creator customization
A Creator Hub, allowing users to browse and discover portfolios from verified creatives
The design process moved from sketching and low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity screens and an interactive prototype. Through iteration, I refined how portfolios are accessed, how work is previewed, and how creatives signal credibility without leaving LinkedIn. The final concept demonstrates how LinkedIn could better support creatives by blending professionalism with creativity, storytelling, and community.
